Can I boost the amplification of speakers B from a single source that offers the option of switching from A/B?

Update:

To clarify I am trying to add punch to the speakers that I operate when I select the "B" set of speakers on my receiver. The receiver offers a choice of switching speakers "A" or "B" or both.

No you're more than likely to burn it out. I have a Yamaha VX492 with that option of switching. You won't burn them out if the speakers can handle the wattage. If it can, you'll just get the same amount of sound, no more, no less.
