what is wrong with me?

I have alot of friends who I have fun with...but for some reason, when my boyfriend doesn't phone, even if just one time, I get so depressed it's unbelievable. Why do I feel like this? I get so angry and feel so awful. I don't know why, because he doesn't treat me badly, and he does phone alot. I don't usually tell him I feel so bad because I don't want him to think i'm crazy.

It may help to get other interests. Keep busy! Maybe volunteer to help somewhere in the community. He may start to feel sufficated if you are so absessed with him. And it will make it harder on you, if for some reason things don't work out. If you feel the depression most of the time, talk to you school counsellor or someone you trust about seeing a dr about some meds. But meds won't do all the work for you! You have to develop a variety of interests and want to be happy. Get out more and make other friends. You will find that your relationship, if it is meant to be, will be stronger and you will be happier.

You're not crazy, but I believe you feel insecure in this relationship. Maybe you don't feel "good enough" to deserve his love? I'm glad you have a lot of friends that you have fun with...it's important not to rely on only one person to fulfill all your needs. No one person will ever be able to fulfill ALL your needs...it's just not humanly possible to be all things to each other. Quit looking for approval from others and know that you are a wonderfully created person who deserves to love and be loved. Self confidence is very attractive!

It sounds like you are depending on your boyfriend for your happiness when you should really be depending on yourself. Also, seems like you have an unhealthy attachment to him. If he doesn't call you a lot, it would seem that he isn't a very good/nice boyfriend. Maybe take some time apart from him to figure out what you really want in life. A healthy relationship should not be like what you are experiencing.

Sounds to me like you have self-esteem problems.

You need to learn to be happy with or without a boyfriend. If your mood depends on someone else's actions to that degree, it's unhealthy.

Get your own life, and don't be dependent on your boyfriend. It'll get old, and he'll probably dump you for someone who has a life.

You need to develop a greater sense of self. Improve your self esteem by taking pride in who you are. Participate in hobbies or activites that give you confidence and make you happy.
