I would find a new doctor if she was just sent home to rest and take her pills. I am hoping he gave her medication samples from the office. Drug companies will give free meds to persons unable to afford meds. Contact the drug company. If her pressure stays up I would go to the er. I would check her pressure frequently. She could have a stroke, or heart attack at any time.

Having a blood pressure at a young age is a serious concern. Because blood pressure affects other systems in the body. The likely cause are diabetis, kind problem, heart problem etc. Normal BP is 130/85. So yours is slighly high which is not dangerous but should take care of it. Usually BP gets after crossing the age of 40. You can attain normal level by controling spicy food, take less salt, and do regular jogging or exercises. Drink more water especially in the morning in empty stomach 1 hour before and after meals in day..... it will surely work if you do it seriously.

You need to get your Mother back on her meds. I have high blood pressure. It is nothing to avoid. Anything over 140/95 is high. Above that it just gets worse. She is at risk of heart attack, stoke, even something as minor as her passing out could cause her to seriusly hurt herself. It will make you dizzy and light headed.I am sure you would want your Mother to feel better.

I am sorry to say that your mother has very high blood pressure.
This can be remedied with diet and exercise.
Although exercise is not an option for some, light walking should be done.
Secondly, reduce caloric intake. Eat a lot of omega 3 fatty acids.
(fish, flax)
She is at risk for heart disease and stroke, imminent. There are resources for people who cannot afford drugs. Search online, she needs those meds!
I am sorry to hear of this grim situation. Wish your mother well.

Oh my... she NEEDS to be on medication. Heart attack, stroke, seizures, very bad things WILL happen.
My blood pressure sky-rocketed when I was in the later months of my pregnancy and I had to have Magnesium-Sulfate pumped through my body to avoid deadly seizures.
Tell her she has to take the medication. I don't know how you'll pay for it, that's something you'll have to work out on your own, but she MUST take it. Not doing so is almost certainly life threatening.

Heart attack, stroke, syncopal episodes.... the list goes on and on.... see if your mom is eligible for your state medicaid program, which will pick up a lot of the cost a primary insurance won't, if not everything. It's very important she takes her medication. Good luck and best wishes!

I'm not sure of the consequences of blood pressure that high.
However, unless you do something positive to lower it - toute de suite - if I were you I wouldn't bother starting to read any serialized novels.

PLS CHANGE DOCTORS HE/SHE SHOULD HAVE ATLEAST ADMITTED HER TO THE HOSPITAL FOR OBSERVATION.. GIVE YOUR MOTHER A GIFT MONTHLY, BUY HER MEDS.... THE RISK OF HIGH BLODD PRESSURE, CAN LEAD TO STROKE, RENAL FAILURE, EYE PROBLEMS..... CHECK OUT THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION WEBSITE..... JUST THINK ALL ORGANS ESP THE MAJOR ONES NEED A GOOD BLOOD SUPPLY AND IF THE PRESSURE IS HIGH BLOOD CAN NOT REACH VITAL ORGANS IN THE NECESSARY SUPPLY THAT IS REQUIRED TO REMAIN HEALTHY....
