How do you have a long-distance relationship when both of you are about to go away to college?

Me and my boyfriend are both planning on leaving for college. He's leaving i think in January, and im not leaving until next year. How do you all still like have a relationship when you all wont be able to see each other and be with each other? He's trying to stay here around where i live so that we can be together, but i told him not to make his decision based on me because he may later on regret not leaving and having that "dorm-life" college experience. And i'm think when it's my turn to go to college that im gonna stay on campus......and i dont want him to feel like i dont care about the relationship because i chose to go away. I dont think it would work just because we'd be living 2 different lives......what do you think?

    1. It sounds like you are being sensible about this relationship. He may not be the one.

    2. University opens your mind, options and priorities. So, who may have filled the bill, in highschool, is now moving in different circles, like you, and the match goes out.

    3. Make no committments. Keep yourselves free to date others. Chances are good that opportunities will present themselves.

    4. It is a time to enjoy oneself. Later, after you've both graduated, if the chemistry is still mutual — go for the long haul.
