Taxes on tractor-trailers....?
Why do people insist that tractor trailers pay MORE taxes for the alleged damage they do to the nations roads? The average truck pays around $12,000 or more in road taxes a year already. How much do cars pay?

I have to pay a car tax every year and it is only thirty dollars. My husband is a trucker and I am so sick and tired of all the extra crap he has to pay just to bring a little money home. Diesel fuel is another huge expense. Have you also noticed that if a truck is involved in an accident it is automatically the truckers fault? I don't think that the average American understands that without truckers, America will stop. I wish the government would cut the truckers some slack.

Tractor Trailers are taxed because the Nation needs them. If they were not necessary the govt wouldn't tax them.
It is a easy source of revenue, besides here in NY State, your highway tax goes into general fund to feed illegal aliens and other welfare scum.
