@ the level I'm on in my present relationship, I would rather have the romantic get-a-way. just to spend some time with him away from the usual setting.

I would prefer a weekend trip somewhere nice, but would probably rather have the present, since I wouldn't be able to go on the weekend trip... My parents would kill me if I had a boyfriend, so I would probably rather be safe and just have a present instead.

Like if your boyfriend gave you a ring then that means they

want to be romantic or they don't know you well

but if he books a trip for you two only then that means that he wants to spend some time with you only or he doesn't want to spend
