When you transfer a title to someone, does it also transfer the license plate?

The original owner is required to turn in their old plates. I'm in La. and turned mine plates in a day late; a "flag" was put on my stuff and when I went to renew my driver's license it took a while to get that straight.

it depends on the state you live in. In Michigan , where I live, The plate is owned by the person who purchased it and is not transferred to the new owner. In some other states the plate is permanently assigned to a specific vehicle. You should accompany the new owner to the Secretary of State office and ensure that the proper paperwork is completed and that the vehicle gets registered in the buyers name. As long as the vehicle is registered in your name you could be held responsible for any accidents.

No title and license are separate requirements at least in Illinois where I live and I can,t imagine it would be different in other states but you could always check with the DMV I suppose to be sure.

get ur plate off the bike it is illegal for the plate not to belong to the owner and if the owner breaks any laws it can come back to you for the laws sake and ur own keep ur plates

Purchaser has to get his/her own license plate.

Please make sure you are taking of the licence plate of that motorcycle.That plate got your name on it and its your responsibility unless you lease the vehicle.And not only that in some state or province you can get credit back.Good luck.
