Final Fantasy IV for GBA?

in myridia before heading up the mountain

let him keep attacking you

DONT DO ANYTHING cept heal yourself

and he will withdraw and you will win

you know, i've played through this game about 7-8 times. on snes and gameboy.

supposedly, if you let him keep attacking you, and you do nothing but defend and heal, after a while, he'll die.

the reason behind this is the command "dark" as you know, since you are on gameboy and not snes (which didn't have the extra commands), the move "dark" takes away hitpoints.

but... i always beat the crap out of the dark knight. which is hard, because you're always at level 1 (of course) and with 700 hp. you need to use potions to cure yourself, and guard in time to defend his attack.

it really doesn't matter if you beat him by just guarding so many times, or by depleting him of hitpoints, both end the same way. you become a paladin for good. (and don't get the game over screen) but it is one of the more challenging fights in the game.

chances are, i doubt you have many potions... you probably saved (i hope) right there before you fought the earth elemental, so just go back down the mountain, and get all that money in the fights (even if they are hard, due to current lack of holy elemental weapons) and get yourself some potions!

after you obtain paladin, on your way back across that bridge, you need to switch your team so that your back row is your front... you're about to be attacked from behind. also, after THAT fight, don't run away from random battles, cecil's new sword is awesome against the enemies, and he needs to level up anyway.

do nothing just let him beat the crap out of you
