A bag of Macaroni noodles and a block of Cheddar cheese.
Boil noodles set aside, shred cheese, add 1 tbs butter and mix.
You can add many things ie. onions, bellpepper, cooked sausage, tomatoes just about anything you like. Make sure that onions, bellpepper are cut small. Place more cheese on top.
Place in a greased casserole pan in preheated oven at 350 and bake 1/2 hour or until top is brownish.

Cook 1 lb macaroni or pasta according to package direction. Whole wheat is okay. Drain.
Cook a chopped onion in a little olive oil untill soft. Add 2 C milk to which t 2 TBL corn starch has been added (stir with fork so that it is not lumpy) add 1tbl bouillion base or cube and cook and stir untill the mixture bubble, cook and stir for an additional minute. Take off heat and stir in 2 C shredded cheese untill melted (I like to mix in a few different kinds). Add pasta and put into a baking dish or two smaller dishes and bake untill browned on top (350ish for about 20-30 minutes). I also like to sprinkle some grated hard cheese such as parm or asiago on top before baking, and sometimes I add spinach and carrots to the white sauce)....Easy Peasy.

First cook your maccaroni al dente. Set aside. Proceed to make a bechamel and at the end of cooking add shredded greuyere cheese. The flavor of the cheese should prevail in the bechamel sauce. Mix the sauce with the pasta and place into a buttered casserole. Top with japanese bread crumbs (panco) and cover. Place in a 375 oven about 20-25 minutes and uncover and let bake 10 minutes more or until the breadcrumbs brown.

You can buy the box mac and cheese, cook pasta as required on package, stir in cheese powder stuff and add a little more mild and butter, about twice as much as the recipe calls for, grate and stir in about 1 cup of SHARP cheddar cheese, put in oven proof caserole dish and top with more shredded cheese, bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, checking until just before tip cheese becomes brown.

My best friend Kelli makes the best Mac & Cheese... here's her recipe (brands don't really matter)
1/2 big container of cottage cheese
1/2 medium container of sour cream
2 cups cheddar cheese
salt and pepper
3 cups pasta shells (cooked) (measure pasta before cooking)
1 raw egg
1. Mix in bowl and pour in pan
2. Sprinkle top with extra cheddar cheese (about a handful)
3. Cook at 375 for about 25 min or until cheese is bubbly and slightly crispy

1/2 pound elbow macaroni
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon powdered mustard
3 cups milk
1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 large egg
12 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Fresh black pepper
Topping:
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup panko bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente.
While the pasta is cooking, in a separate pot, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and mustard and keep it moving for about five minutes. Make sure it's free of lumps. Stir in the milk, onion, bay leaf, and paprika. Simmer for ten minutes and remove the bay leaf.
Temper in the egg. Stir in 3/4 of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Fold the macaroni into the mix and pour into a 2-quart casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese.
Melt the butter in a saute pan and toss the bread crumbs to coat. Top the macaroni with the bread crumbs. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and rest for five minutes before serving.
Remember to save leftovers for fried Macaroni and Cheese.
