Met some one in a chat, should I meet her?
Hmm, well, I was on an old style BBS reciently, and met a girl. We both seem to realy like each other, have talked on the phone for hours at a time... I'm thinking (seriously) of going across the country to see her (I live in New Jersey, she lives in Hawaii)... We have exchanged pictures... I'm just scared I guess but I don't know if I should go see her...
What do you people think?? We've spoken in passing a few times in the past, nothing much, but over this past weekend we really (and i do mean really) seem to hit it off... there's barly a time now that I'm not thinking of her...
Also, if you think I should go see her, I need a good idea for a nice Gift to give her... not expensive though, so no jewlry:)
Thanks!
Well, to answer a question...
No, she doesn't work for, or is in the Army...
I'm 26, and she's 29...
I'm asking more so because we've talked so much so quick... just a few days and we seem to click together like i've never seen...
Thanks for the answers, and I hope for more thoughts!

Why wouldn't you go? It's no different than meeting someone in a bar or at a party..... actually in my opinion it's better. Just keep it relaxed and treat it as a vacation. Get yourself a nice hotel room and do some homework on the city your going to. If it doesn't work out you can go off on your own and not worry about her.

I met my husband on the chat line. We talked for a couple months, then we began phoning each other. After about 3 months, we knew it was time to meet. We have been very happily married now for 4 years. We also lived many miles, and several states, apart. He didn't bring me any gifts, but just the fact we were together was all I needed, but if you need a gift, how about a small glass figurine of some sort? Good luck!!

GO FOR IT!!!
Just make sure you book a hotel room - in case she's unable to accommodate you.
As for a gift? what woman doesn't doesn't like flowers and candy?
Have you ever heard of soap cards? They are fun-shaped soaps with messages written on them, cute idea, how about it?

It's be much easier if you could find someone more local. Or just treat it as a holiday.
