PEANUT BUTTER BUT BEFORE YOU SET YOUR TRAP PUT SOME PEANUT BUTTER ON THE TRAP, PLACE IT IN THE AREA FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS RODENTS ARE PRETTY SMART, THIS WILL GET THE MOUSE USED TO THE TRAP, THEN YOU SET THE TRAP THIS GETS THEM EVERY TIME.

Best Bait For Mouse Traps

Peanut butter works BEAUTIFULLY - the cruchy kind seems to be best, since they have to dig into it a little more. Don't bother with cheese - it doesn't do anything. Just get the least expensive store brand, and they'll go for it. If you end up with empty traps even after the peanut butter, you might consider rat traps instead of mouse traps.

I would give up on mouse traps. Instead get mouse bait (sold for $3 at Dollar General and Family Dollar) Mice will be poisoned and when they are poisoned they will seek an outside water source. We got rid of our mice 2 yrs ago and haven't seen a turd since. We live in the country and they were pretty bad. The guys used to shoot Qtips at them and one guy had a blowdart. but mousebait works the best!

A tad bit of peanut butter, cheese is just a myth it doesn't work. Don't use too much pb though cause they could eat off of it without setting off the trap and that is a *****♥ Good Luck catching the buggers♥

Peanut Butter and then get some of those D CON mouse poison blocks and toss them under the house, if you can. We had a bunch of mice last winter and the Peanut worked great, in fact, you can even reuse it. The poison just keeps them at bay- you never totally get rid of them all unless you hire a pro to come in.

I nailed one with a frying pan too, but it didn't make mouse shaped dent in the pan and i was disappointed.

Dried fruit like raisins work too, but catching mice this way is a waste of time and raisins. You need a good quality mouse bait that they will take back to the nest, and you must also elimnate anything that might be attracting them.

i've caught 60 mice this month with cheese (2 traps every night catch me 2 mice), its food, mice will be attracted to any type of food. Cheese is smelly so this is my prefered bait.

A dab of peanut butter.

Gets 'em every time.
