pick up a defense?

i was optimistic and drafted d. branch, but his future is not looking bright. i need all roster spots on my team to be productive. so far, i only have pitt defense, but i also have culpepper as my starting qb. since they are playing against each other on thursday, i don't like playing defenses against QB because any sacks or picks just negate each other.

should i drop branch and which defense should i pick up? in my opinion of the remaining defenses that are available in my league. both miami and seattle are viable, bc they both have easy schedules. which would you pick up and why?

Unlike some of the previous posts, I know that the BEARS defense is not available in your league.

The first week is the hardest in fantasy football, because there will be surprises and busts.....you just don't know which is which.

I would be patient and start both. Say Culpepper throws for 225 yards and 2 TD's, and the Steelers get a couple sacks and give up 17 points. You really didn't get hurt that bad on either end and had an ok week.

I would start both Culpepper and the Steelers defense. One is likely to give you at least a reasonable # of points.

PS - Consider picking up Doug Gabriel on NE if he is still a Free Agent.

    Good luck.

Yes drop Branch right away and go to free agency and look at the defense go with the one that has the highest points from last year ..Or see if you can pick up the Buc's or Bears or Gaints.. but basically they are already taken soo the rest of the D's left kinda suck.. just pick out one with the most points.

Pick up Miami. The Steelers wont put up many points against them because they have no real throwing threat without Rothlisberger at QB.

Seattle is the choice because they have a cupcake schedule and get to face Detroit in the first week. Now that is production!

Go with Seattle. They are in a weak division and their defense will give you fantasy points throughout the season.

i will understand your subject. i could be leary approximately commencing them against an extremely good STL Offense this is coming off a Bye. The NE D feels like a conceivable option thinking they're enjoying against an ok offense, to no longer point out Brady seldom places them in a bad place. good success
