If oxygen was replaced with nitrogen, YOU'D BE DEAD. Air is approximately 60% nitrogen already, so maybe it wouldn't be much different.

Look if air contained more nitrogen than it is present may be there would be no life on Earth.

Because:

1. It would be difficult to inhale

2. Nothing could not burn , so we would not be able to breath.

3.End result : There would be no life.

And if air contained more oxygen than it is present may be there would be disasters every second.

1.No air would not be purified as more things will burn decreasing amount of oxygen for breathing

2.No breathing wouldn't be easier it would remain the same or it may become more hard.

3.Yes for sure combustion would be fast , uncontrollable, hazardous and highly dangerous.

4.Life span would increase to only few years as there will be more competiotion for oxygen and also deadly fires will be killing us.

So None Of These Conditions Would Be Beneficial For Us.

Air contains nitrogen already... but if you want take out all the remaining oxygen and replace it with nitrogen, the earth will have 98% nitrogen... As for your questions -

1) air would not be purified.. nitrogen has no effect on that .. but its compounds pollute air.

2) you wouldn't be able to live because we breathe in oxygen which is used for many functions in the body.. without oxygen.. you'd die.

3) combustion would not be faster or dangerous.. nitrogen doesn't catch fire.

4) refer to number "2)" and judge by yourself.

Air is mostly consists of nitrogen. Only a small portion contains actual oxygen, however we couldnt live without this mix. So I would say no to the first question. No, to the second and third question because oxygen is necessary for metabolism and gas exchange, as well as combustion is oxygen dependent. And judging that if there was no oxygen to run the body, life span would be very very short.

Air is 70% Nitrogen. If it were all nitrogen, you'd suffocate.

-breathing would be easier.

-combustion would be most likely, faster, and more dangerous. Oxygen is flamable, in that fire is an oxygenating chemical reaction.

-I don't know if life span would increase, but it'd help with medical problems where you have trouble getting enough oxygen in your blood. That is, as long as you don't catch on fire from the abnormally high oxygen level.

Air already contains Nitrogen. In fact, it's most of the air (about 78%). So since we need Oxygen, taking that out of the air would be bad. In a perfect situation where there were no pollutants and other air ingredients, I suppose it would be purified.

it would not be possible for human beings to survive only plants &trees can survive it is right that combustion would be faster as nitrogen is self a combustion gas.

The air we breathe is roughly 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen, with trace amounts of other gases, and water vapor. We have evolved to live well with that ratio. If the ratio were to change suddenly in any direction, we would be in big trouble.
