oil pressure indicator illuminates at idle 01 Galant?
idle becomes rough(very subtle vibe) but no knock. light goes off when off idle and can rev high and smooth till red line. this engine might qualify as slightly neglected. any mitsu techs see this?

does not consume oil no damge to pan.
no sludge evident under valve cover....

Well you didn't mention mileage. I assume, either you have fery little to no oil in the engine, and thus wore out the oil pump. Or due to the high mileage, it has wore out from that. I'd most likely assume that its neglect, like you stated. And also, could be the oil pan is kind of crushed into the oil pump pick up screen. Is possible, and have seen on some customer cars, where someone has done that to change a tire. Good luck.

piss poor oil and filter try a high flo filter and premium oil along with a quart of lucas additve
