can you put four hard drives in a Dell XPS Gen4?

You need to look at the motherboard, there are probably 2 IDE channels, one for 2 hard drives and 1 for a CD-Rom/DVD(don't put a hard drive on this one). There may be connections for SATA drives. If there aren't you'll need a controller card, SATA is probably best and you can plug the SATA drives into the board. Just make sure that the box has enough room to install 4 drives and the power supply is large enough. Dell is notorious for underpowered machines. If they won't go inside use Firewire or USB external drives. If you go to Dell.com and put in the service tag number in the Support section you should be able to pull up some tech specs on your computer that will help. Good Luck
