Help...i put a game in my computer and it isnt starting and i tried the run option?

the game is the sims deluxe edition why wont it work..please help the answer that works gets 10 pts :)

please help meeeee.. i have a strang urge to play the sims and i cant frind mty simss 2 disc!!

ummi have an NEW acer windows xp and i dunno what the other stuff is

    Operating system

    Computers specs (graphics card, sound card, RAM, processor, etc.)

    you may have a different computer program example:windows2000 and xp i have the same game it dosent work on my computer but it works on my dads we both have windows xp!!!!!!!!!!!!!
