Can the County Commissioner's Office charge for a copy of the budget and if so how much?

The county is Okeechobee County in Florida.

I just thought public records were supposed to be free to the public.

    Yes, if county ordinances and state law permit.

    Under the Freedom of Information Act, requestors can be charged up to $25 per request for administrative fees, copying fees, etc. A waiver of fees can be requested.
