Have you kept - or closed - a gap in your front teeth and why?

(The technical term for the gap I'm thinking of is a diastema).

You can count me in the gap toothed club! I have a large space between my front teeth. Some people tell me its cute, while others think I need to have it fixed. My parents choose not to fix it when I was young because they felt the space would close up when I got my adult teeth, well it never closed up.Their is a superstition that a gap in your teeth coincides with a fun loving and adventurous nature...if you look at Madonna you can see why that is true. Now that I'm in my mid twenties I'm really self-conscious about it,I might have it closed one day,but for now its just part of me....

In India having a gap in your front teeth is considered lucky - financially. Otherwise you can look up to Madonna for inspiration. But really depends on how comfortable u are with the gap i mean if you can't laugh openly if you are conscious then you should get it filled, i will not use the term fixed.

I like the gap because I can spit water between my teeth up to 14 feet

I did because I always felt like people were looking at them and after I did close the gap - I gained allot of confidence when speaking with people. I know it sounds vain, but it did the trick for me.
