If someone claims you did something that you didn't do, and they press charges against you....................
Ok, I can't explain this without the story, so here it is.
I was driving on the parkway at 11:00pm going to pick up my boyfriend from work. When I get to his job I park my car and immediately started a conversation with my brother who also works there, a couple of seconds later some guy walks up to my car window and says "were you aware that you threw something out of your window and it hit my windsheild?" I said no. He went a got a cop the cop told him that he had to talk to the state police. I went home, went to sleep, at 3:00 in the morning a state trooper calls me at home. He tells me that this guy is planning to file charges against me, but if I agree that I did it we can come to an agreement over the phone without any problems, I didn't agree that I did it so the cop continued to tell me that the guy was going to press charges against me, but I didn't do it. What can I do to prove that I didn't throw anything (but a cigarette butt) out of my window?
Idiot!!!!! he is saying that his windshield is cracked, he told the cop that I threw a penny out of my window. As far as I know a cigarette butt is soft, it can't crack someones windshield.

Get a lawyer. If you didn't throw anything out it's possible he was mistaken. It may have been a car in front of you or something. It was dark. It's pretty hard for him to know.
Ask for a copy of his statement. See if he had to "speed up" to catch up the vehicle. Was he on the highway? How many cars were on the highway? Let your lawyer go over all of this. If there were more cars on the highway it could be it was the one in front of you. Take a lie detector if that's possible. Get him to take one saying "are you sure it was her?". I mean anyone can say anything. This guy is out to nab someone for something and if you are an upstanding person others can vouch for you who've driven with you (have you ever seen her throw anything out of the car etc.)
It's a nasty situation but you should get a lawyer. That might scare this guy into dropping it.

How do you know that this state trooper is really a cop? It seems strange that he would call at 3 am, that whole story sounds fishy. If you did throw out a cigarette butt (DON'T DO THAT, YOU COULD START A FIRE) it shouldn't damage his windshield. I would just ignore him. The worst he can do is take you to small claims court to sue you for damages to the windshield and he has to prove it. If he keeps harassing you call a lawyer and get a restraining order on him.

It could have been a rock thrown up at his windshield from under your tires but I seriously doubt that he can do anything to you. He will have to prove what hit his window and he is going to have a long hard road ahead of him. Believe me, if you are innocent, you cannot prove nor can he that you did anything. Tell his lame *** to tell his insurance company and they will take care of a new windshield. Tell him he has to bear the burden of proof. Besides, his windshield was probably already cracked and he was looking for a scapegoat. In San Diego County, you cannot file any kind of claim for cracked windshields anymore unless you get the plate of a dump truck or gravel hauler and go directly to their company and file a claim. Good luck. By the way, press charges is a phrase to scare you. He can't press anything but his luck. Now, filing a claim will get him nowhere too.

Did he say that you broke his windshield?
Or was he just pissed that you threw something?
What charges is he pressing against you?
OR is he suing for damages?
I think that you may be in the middle of a scam....a state trooper calling you?? sounds a little bit fishy. Did you get the name of the State Trooper? I would call back your local Sherrif (or whatever it is there) and find out if all of this is legit. Did the other guy supply you with his contact information?
It all sounds fishy to me....

1st off I donut believe your story for several reasons
.Police are not going to call your home at 3 in the morning over this
.This is not a Police matter its Civil
.No crime was committed nor can be proven
Now lets say your story is true. You are the victim of a hoax to extort monies from you. Ignore the calls etc until you get a summons for court. You wont because there is no evidence to support claim or any witnesses. If another Officer calls your home gt his name and other info. then call Police or whatever agency he/she claims to be from and see if such a person works there.

This sounds really weird....how can they even prove you did it. Its his word against yours. This will never hold up in court. Just claim the guy is a nut job and followed you into the parking lot. Sounds like a crazy person.

it relies upon on what state you're in. If he became HIV useful, and knew it on the time he became dozing with you, then there may be a clarification for action for a civil in good shape. I doubt there ought to be criminal costs pressed against him. in spite of the undeniable fact that, while you're HIV useful via fact he did not inform you, then you have the skill to recuperate the fees of scientific therapy, emotional trauma, lost wages (in case you had to/ought to bypass paintings via fact of all this) etc. talk to an legal expert given which you're HIV+. in spite of the undeniable fact that, notice that in case you attempt to circulate after your ex in a civil in good shape, that is going to likely be VERY confusing to tutor that he became the guy who unquestionably gave it to you. he will completely attempt to declare which you sleep around and have been given it from somebody else and then gave it to him. So it ought to be an exceedingly confusing case to win on your section. If he continuously harasses you, then i might propose changing your telephone selection and getting a restraining order against him. If he comes interior of one thousand feet of you, you could call the police officers and he would be carted off to penitentiary. solid success.

Get yur lawer, explain him whole story, also if they tries to frame against yu, ask them the proof or what sort of damage was done to that guy's screen. if nothing happened to the guy's screen . then mention that line to yur lawer. if yu say yu threw some cigareet buff explain what damage propably it could cause to his wind sheild.
But if any damage is done compansate to that guy immediately, if yu dont wann to be fined or yur driving licence cancelled, or worst punishment from court.

get a lawyer and fight this because it doesn't sound like it has a chance to stand up in court, it's his word against yours - there's no proof (from the story you told) that anything was thrown that hit this kids windshield
this kid seems like a total loser looking for an easy scapegoat for damage to his car - don't let it be you

Well so you did throw something out your window, a cigarette butt! You just admitted it. A cigarette butt qualifies as "something". You should try to settle this out of court.
He has a right to be upset.
What if the lit butt had landed IN his car and set him on fire?
