Is there a software (that emulates windows 98) that can enable me to use my old scanner with windows xp?
I have a Logitech scanman that I really love using. It could scan any size of document, even books or maps. The new scanners now can only accommodate letter and A4 size sheets. It has drivers for windows98. Unfortunately, I can't find any drivers for it in windows xp. Is there a type of software that can emulate windows 98 in windows xp so I could use it again?

You can use VMware to emulate Windows 98 (or any other OS) under Windows XP. However, this virtualization software is costly and therefore it's better to find Windows XP driver for this older device.

Why don't you go to Logitech support to see if they have a driver or other software that would let you use your scanner with Win XP:

you have one of two solution
1. Microsoft Virtual PC, which allow you to run to OS's at same time.
2. install windows 98 on another paratition, use it for scanning.

VirtualPC from Microsoft lets you run multiple operating system simultaneously and you can drag and drop between them. I've listed the link in the source section. And good news, it's now free!
