Women with IUD's or IUS's?

How happy are you with them?

What complications have you had, if any?

What brand is yours?

Would you recommend them to a woman considering one?

Was insertion/removal painful? What did they do for the pain, if yes?

Can they be felt during sex?

Thanks for answers.

How happy are you with them? Yes very happy with it. Due to hormone levels I cant use any other type of birh control

What complications have you had, if any?Spotting for 3 months after insertion esp during sex

What brand is yours? Mirena it does have hormones BUT it dosent get in your blood streem its localized so it reduces cramping and the flow of your period versus Paraguard (10yrs and hormone free) Many women experience a loss of period after a certain time. I havent had a period for 3 years

Would you recommend them to a woman considering one? DEF would if a woman is certain she dosent want to TTC any time soon and or has had a problem on hormonal birthcontrol. Also its something you put in and 4get about it no need to remember everday at the same time to take a pill or to go to the DR every 3 months for a shot or refill. Its recommened for women who have had atelast one child due to the fact that it may cause infertillity at time of removal. Less than 1 in 100 women become pregnant on the IUD (usually due to it coming out and its more common in the 1st year)10 out of 100 women expell the IUD in the 1st year

Was insertion/removal painful? What did they do for the pain, if yes? not really but I was told to take ibeprofen before my visit

Can they be felt during sex? yes in the beggining your partner might fel the strings but after a while with vaginal secretions and semen the strings do soften a bit. You can also wrap you strings around your cervixs so your partner wont feel them
