How can so many people think the government caused 9/11 or allowed it to happen?

Polls can be made to produce whatever resuts the pollster desires. Not that all pollsters do this but it is certainly possible. We also know that *all is fair game in politics and war.* (A play on words I know, but you get the drift)

Every bit of evidence leads to the fact that there were Islamic terrorists as you mentioned in control of the planes that crashed.

Inside of Bush's Administration there have been more leaks to the press over the years for every little thing imaginable, and yet a supposed plot that would have taken a multitude of people, a multitude of agencies, the military, airline companies and air traffic control personnel to perpetrate has been pulled off without one leak. Not to mention the people on Flight 93 who fought with the terrorist and were relaying information to family and other agencies while it was going on. Were the people on the plane that crashed in PA lying? did they willingly lie and sacrifice their lives so that the Bush Administration could pull off 9/11? NOT ONE LEAK. We KNOW there are those on Bush's staff that can be bought, it continues to happen looking for a way to discredit the man practically on a weekly basis. You kind of expect behavior like that coming out of Washington. But, not one leak on Bush being behind 9/11.

Also, if the Muslim men accused of hijacking the planes were wrongfully accused and there was one iota of truth to the claim, why isn't the Muslim community coming out of the woodwork denying the claims? There has never been a protest stating that this was not perpetrated by Muslims. There has been Muslims who have denounced the attack by fellow Muslims and defending the Islamic religion as one of peace but not one protest for the "wrongfully accused" Muslims. Why is that? Wouldn't it be a huge feather in their cap to dishonor the United States? Instead, there were huge crowds of them dancing in the streets, celebrating the attacks. Bin Laden basically admitted that the acts of terrorism were perpetrated in the name of Allah. Why wouldn't any Muslim of stature anywhere be fighting the claims that it wasn't Muslims that were responsible. BECAUSE THEY KNOW.

The only ones taking up the cause of the "wrongfully accused" Muslims in this country are Liberal extremists who WANT it to be true that our government was responsible for 9/11. Read that??? THEY WANT IT TO BE TRUE. Read that again. THE LIBERAL EXTREMIST WANT IT TO BE TRUE THAT THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES KILLED 3000+ PEOPLE ON 9/11/2001. Regardless if it is true or not, they NEED it to be true so that they can use it against the President and against the Republicans. Yes, it is sick.

Okay first of all when was the last war? Gulf war! Who was in power? Bush SR! What was the fight really about? Oil! Where do the Bush's get all there money from? Oil! Who have the Bush's been in business with in the past? Bin Laden's! Where do the Bin Laden's get all their money from? Oil! Are you seeing a pattern here or is it just the rest of us? Where was Bush SR rumoured to be the day of 9/11 attacks? With Bin Laden's father in New York! What is one of the things that has happened since 9/11 Gas prices have sky rocketed! Who's making money? The Bush's and the Bin Laden's! How are we able to catch Sadam in a hole in the ground and there has been no capture of Bin Laden? Get a clue people! Open your eyes and realize most wars are over religion and natural resources. In this case religion is being blamed for the cause of this war that's really a big smoke show for the rich and powerful to get more rich and powerful.

You know, with all those institutions as NSA, CIA and whatnot it's a little hard to believe the government had no @#@# idea about the attack. If they did shame on them, if they didn't wtf does the CIA, NSA etc do? Many other intelligence agencies could have informed them in any case, like the MOSSAD etc.

So as you see it is a very complicated situation. In any case creating wars and terrorists through imperialism is not a patriotic thing.

Anyway thinking that the government allowed this too happen is so sick and twisted that I myself do not believe it however I can see why some people do.

A little niave to be thinking that our government is above killing its own people. There is a release report out where our government planned to kill our own people and blame it on terrorist. It was the brainthrust of the CIA. There is more out there, just google it and look. Don't believe everything you read, but you seem smart enough to be able to leaf through what is factually documented and what isn't.

Please do yourself a favor and stop being so trusting. I love the US, and it is the greatest country in the world, but you and I are just pawns in the political world for others agendas.

When you quote the republican leaning Union Leader, you are in trouble. I saw the towers go down. I saw blasts above and below where the planes hit before they came down. They fell like they were being imploded. Witnesses smelled cordite (police and fireman as well). 7 World Trade Plaza - which housed government records - came down the same way. What hit the Pentagon was a missile, not a plane. Where was the fuselage? The wings? The hole was too small for a 757. I used to cater those planes. 93 over PA was blown out of the sky. Bits were scattered over a longer area than if it crashed. Shall I continue?

They EVEN SAID THAT IT WAS NOT A PRIORITY FOR THEM (Terrorism). I'm not trying to blame them because hey, when your running a government you have a thousand things going on at once, but the fact IS, yes, he did get THAT MEMO and yes, it was read to him at his briefing. So please don't act like it was all some big surprise when the terrorist hit! They did have forwarning. Someone COULD HAVE SENT THE MEMO TO FBI OR CIA or whatever. Heck it was probably sent from one of them. They could have picked up the phone and said, "what does this mean, exactly," BUT THEY DIDN'T.

Most intelligence agencies agree that Osama didn't respond and claim responsibilty to the attacks as quickly as terrorists normally do.

Normally terrorists would simply and loudly declare themselves responsible.

It was only after sometime that Osama said it was a good thing (never said he did it, which is odd yeh?) and then after like a bunch of time took credit (after the Americans declared he was responsible)

everybody loves a good conspiracy theory. but if what u say stands true then americans by far go out of their ways to seek conspiracies in tragedies.

what the west needs right now is something to believe in. the answer is not in seeking conspiracies. the answer lies in compassion, brotherhood and unity. the answer is to stand up for each other.
