i totally agree! it is safe to say that nike wouldn't have been what it is today if not for michael jordan. he was so successful that nike even came up with jordan's own brand, the jumpman collection.

Most Successfully how? Money, Product, or Noticeable? Money wise he is not the most successful as Tiger Woods makes about 3 million a year more than he does. Noticeable yes by far MJ is. But Product wise The Air Jordan shoes have outsold any shoe the industry made. However in terms of Royalties Every shoe even the air jordan has the SWOOSH marking which goes back to another athlete.
