Algae Wafers or you could make your own Plec Cookies (which are no joke and they chow on 'em even when the light is on they love 'em so much).

If you want my Plec Cookie recipe just email me.

If you have a plecostomus species (http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9gnMiJGJAxFv3kAwCajzbkF... )you can buy the sinking algae wafers everyone else is talking about, but I would also supplement their diet with blanched cucumber or squash slices, lettuce, and blanched green beans. Believe me they do like the fresh vegetables. Also if you do have a plecostomus their digestive system is benefited by having some driftwood in the aquarium that they can rasp (gnaw) on. The wood somehow aids in their digestive process from my understanding. Now if you have a Chinese algae eater ( http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9gnMig1JQxF0VsBlIujzbkF... )you would probably do best to find a new home for this critter. They are very inefficient at algae removal and will eat the natural slime coating and scales off of your fish. They also tend to get aggressive as they age.

an Algie eater will eat the food that is not consumed by other fish, and it will keep the fish waste to a minimum.

This is easy. I have 5 of them on one tank and one is 10 years old. Go to Wal-Mart and buy a pack of algie tablets. They cost 4.97. I drop some on the tank every night.

You can buy algae wafers, algae pellets, or whatever other algae things they make. Just drop one in the tank at "feeding time", and the algae eater will go right for it. It may take him a minute to realize what/where it is, but no doubt it'll go and devour it soon.

    Best of luck!

All pet stores carry food for bottom feeders and sinking algae wafers. Or, you could buy a veggie clip and put slices of cucumber in it. Your fish will enjoy it as much as your algae eater.

Go to walmart and buy some Algea tabs. You drop one in there and it provides algae for them to eat. They usually come in bags and last quiet a while. Our Algea eater lived forever with those things

    good luck

Feed him a product that is named Seaweed selects. It is a algae food or you could also use tablets of algae both of these products are ready and available in your local pet shop.

Between excess food & fish waste your bottom feeder will have no problem finding something to eat.
