Sony is the top of the line, but a little more expensive. I have three units all different, the Sony out performs all of them.

The best DVD-RW drives are 1) Plextor-- awesome, but very expensive 2) Pioneer-- good, and not as expensive as Plextor 2) Sony-- yeah, I know I have two #2's, that's what happens when you have a tie. Sony is easier to find than Pioneer, though, and since they are less than half the price of a Plextor, I'd go with a Sony.

Browse around see what other DVD drive you would like. There are many and most are pretty good. I have a HP lightscribe and works great.

Plextor are the premium brands, fast, stable and quiet drives.
Just check out the reviews on the net, plextor comes highly recommended!
