I found a pug and was wondering if anyone knows if I can tell how old she is?

the teeth usuall will tell. in size, if it is a puppy if it still has some baby teeth. older dogs have plack buildup on their teeth or missing teeth.

you cant know for sure, but you can get a generalization, like okay its a puppy, or its about five years old, or its way old. you can tell if its a puppy if it is really hyper and playful, doesnt have a lot or any gray or white hairs (unless its a gray or white dog) and if its teeth are white and clean looking. older dogs have lots of gray hairs around their eyes and mouth mainly. their teeth also look like theyve been used a lot, and often have yellow or brown stains. theyre also more dull. a meidum agedish dog would be something inbetween. if you take it to the vet they can usually give you the most accurate answer

Take her to the vet, see to it that she's in good health.. There may be some shots that will be needed, since she was 'found' to ensure that she remain in good health..

Will you let anyone know you found her.. My mom had found a beautiful puppy the morning after a thunderstorm, hiding beneath her car when she arrived at work. She quickly gathered her up and brought her to myself and our 2 young sons. She turned out to be the puppy of two other little children..

So hard not to become attached to lost, or thrown away pets..

you can just look at the activity of the dog. is it more lazy, or more active. the more active it is the more likely it is to be younger. like the other people said, you can also look at the teeth, that should tell you alot. and the weight, structure, and just overall of how it looks, can tell you about how old it is. you can probably take it to a vet too. i think they can give you the best estimate to abt how old it is.

check her teeth for plaque, if they are white she is probably on the young side. if there is plaque it is hard to say. if you found her you may want to find out who she belongs to as i am sure they are missing her right now. have her scanned for a microchip, that will hopefully tell you who she belongs to.

sometimes you can tell by its posture how old is the animal. I usually can figure out the age of cats.

Old animals sometimes miss teeth.
