As a former retail TV sales associate for over 20 years I would suggest LG hands down.

You shouldn't limit yourself to merely two choices, there are many other CRT monitors & there are other technologies.

There was a recent article about Samsung rear projection televisions being a real problem for a guy who bought several for his motel. Since it was considered a 'commercial' transaction, rather than for personal use, the local Samsung dealership would not honour the warrenties. I have a Samsung microwave with a griller & conventional oven combo & in 5 years, no problem, but now, after reading about the guy with the TVs, I'm skiddish about anything Samsung! Seems like CRT monitors wouldn't be much different from one 'brand' or another. Just make sure you make the selection based on your own personal preferences of features, PRICE & availability of service after the sale. I'm a real stickler for PRICE! You might wanna think 'pre-owned' for your very best value in any 'brand'.

it extremely relies upon on the aspects and setup of the television itself, samsung has television's that are 720p on a similar time as LG has some that are 1080p yet that has no longer something to do with type and the two make an array of distinctive setups.

All samsung products (tv's and screens) have a much sharper and better picture then the others. You can really notice it at the shops when the samsung is next to the other brand screens.
