the 2006 FIFA World Cup final was held on Sunday, 09 July 2006, kick-off was at 20:00 @ 8:00pm at Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany.
the match between ITALY & FRANCE was extended to another 30 minutes after both teams were level at 1-1 after 90 minutes of normal time. as both teams failed to score in the additional period of extra time, the match was decided on penalties which ITALY won 5-3.
Italian players have successfully converted their spot-kicks while David Trezeguet of FRANCE missed his spot-kick which gives ITALY their 4th World Cup title.
