Things to do in Chicago?
We're going to Chicago on Friday and we've never been there so we're clueless as to things to do there. Any recommendations? Places to see, things to do, places to eat--got any ideas? Thanks!

You must have pizza! Our personal favorite is Lou Malnati's! Depending on your budget Le Colonial on Rush is an excellent restaurant. They also have a bar upstairs that's awesome!
Orso's Restaurant in Old Town is a great Italian restaurant!!
We always take our guests to the Signature Lounge at the top of the John Hancock building for drinks/coffee/desserts! The view is out of this world!
The Bean, Crown Fountains, and Buckingham Fountain at Millenuium Park are all must sees!!
All the old mansions in the Gold Coast are nice!
Of course there is all of the shopping on Michigan Avenue!
Lincoln Park
Walk the path along the Lake Front
Museums
Architecture Boat Tours
Definitely hit the Pancake House for breakfast!
So many things to do......
As someone already mentioned... metromix.com is a great website!
Good luck! Unfortunately, I think it's supposed to rain here all weekend but it's usually just drizzle.

Chicago has alot to offer. You can definitely hand around downtown the whole day starting with Michigan avenue, offering places to eat, chill and shop. Pass by Navy pier which again is very close to Michigan ave. The shedd aquarium, the museum and the planatarium on your way to the south side are a must and so is boat ride-depends on the weather, i had my ride last year the same time-was pretty chilllyyyy. Dot miss out the John hancock centre-great view of the lovely city. How about Greek town and Rogers park, both give an extreme diverse look and atmosphere in terms of overall look and food.

I would have to say go to Navy Pier. Depending on what time of year you come there are so many things to do in the summer. OF course our museums are great to go to and see, but you pretty much know what will be in there. Take time to see the outside of Chicago before you are cooped up inside a museum all day. (don’t get me wrong I think they are all great, but you should enjoy what the outside of the city has to offer.)
Go see Buckingham Fountain that is beautiful, but I know they shut it off after a certain date when it starts getting cold.
Don't forget to get some popcorn from Garrett’s on State Street, the Old Navy store on State Street is the best, and then there WAS Marshall Fields until those home wreckers turned it into a Macy’s (don’t go to Macy’s! :)) and also go walk the Magnificent Mile aka Michigan Ave. there are so many stores and the atmosphere is beautiful!!
Also go to the John Hancock and/or Sears Tower and go to the top for an amazing view. Also @ the bottom of the John Hancock there is the cheesecake factory, that place has GREAT food and so many different cheesecakes to try!
Pizza my favorite is Lou Malanti’s BUT Gino’s east is awesome great too!
If you love Italian stuff Taylor Street has the best frozen lemonade in a ton of different flavors (but I think they may only be open seasonally)
Let me know if you have any other questions!

The first thing I would do is by a visitor's pass for cta. That will give you unlimited use of public transportation. Then purchase something that is called city pass. That is $50, but it it gives admission to the Shedd aquarium, The field museum, the planetarium, the sear's tower, the john hancock observatory, and the art museum. The john hancock observatory is really nice because they have a screened portion so it's like you're outside on top of a top building. You probobly want to do the John Hancock building last because everything else closes earlier. Navy pier is also nice. There's alot of carnavil type rides. Buckingham foutain is also really neat..

First and foremost in my opinion you have to go to the Museum of Science and Industry. Next the Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum. Navy Pier is good also. I could live in MSI I love the place and unfortunately there is nothing in Atlanta that even comes close.

Chicago is a great city!
If you like art museums, go to the Art Institute. Its a truly world class museum. If you don't care for that sort of thing, at least take pictures with the lions out front.
