Looking for NIQUET family ancestors in St Jean-d'Angely, Brizambourg, St-Loup France?

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to find NIQUET family ancestors in the St Jean-d'Angely, Brizambourg, St-Loup area of France (Charente-Maritime).

I have some information placing families in St-Loup and Brizambourg circa 1600 - 1666, but I can't find any info earlier than that. The few church and notary records I have don't link them to any parents or other ancestors.

I can provide details as needed, but I wanted to throw out a general teaser just to find out if anyone out there knows anything about NIQUET in that area and time, and/or what resources/researchers I might be able to access to learn more.

Thanks to all,

Big Al Mintaka

Research in France is a bit hit and miss. Many records from before the revolution have vanished.

However, It seems to be a fairly common name in Charente Maritime. The phone directory ( http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/pb.cgi ) lists 14 Niquets.

There is some more info here : http://genforum.genealogy.com/niquet/

The message boards if you have allready seen the stuff I am talking about .. Will post in the town your trying to dig up . Also SOmething I found ... I traced my Wrights from ENgland 1566 to here ( Plymouth mass ) I found that the first cousin is mostly married to their first cousin... Easy to find the grandparents. Hard on the mind. I would try to do a geneology message board for the town ... providence and see what you find.. Has the pay sites been help?
