1. Stick with the basics: The experts suggest cleansing your face two or three times daily with good old soap and water. Pack a premoistened cleansing pad if you won't be around a water basin throughout the day.
2. Understand that dermatologists and aestheticians often disagree on which types of soaps or cleansers to use'but all agree that once you find a product that works well for your skin, you should continue using it.
3. Follow the recommendations of dermatologists and shower or bathe in tepid rather than steaming-hot water. Hot water can strip your skin of needed moisture, while cold water can shock your skin.
4. Avoid using cleansers that tend to overdry skin. This paradoxically causes your skin to produce even more oil than usual.
5. Use only noncomedogenic moisturizers and sunscreen products'this means they're oil-free and won't clog pores.
6. Talk to your dermatologist about a class of drugs called retinoids, which reduce production in oil glands and shrink their size.
7. Keep in mind that oil glands are very sensitive'stimuli such as hormones, heat and (some say) fatty food can trigger them.
8. Remember that your efforts to keep your oily skin clear can only go so far, as some studies indicate that oily skin is hereditary.

The best thing to do is to get some St. Ives Apricot Scrub for Blemish and Blackhead Control. It is oil free and has salicylic acid. You can get it at any Wal-Mart or most drug stores. I have been using it for 8 years and I never have any problems with blackheads. But, the mistake that most people make when using these kinds of scrubs and cleansers is making it a chore. If you just use a little to scrub your face with everytime you take a shower instead of using soap it will really work. Inevitably though you will still get the occasional pimple. When this happens rub a little bit of toothpaste (yes I said toothpaste) on the affected area before you go to bed and wash it away in the morning before going to work/school. Be sure to use the paste kind though and not the gel kind. I really hope this helps you out, Good Luck.

I have oily skin too. I don't know how to control it. But I always bring the Mary Kay Oil Mattifier (in a tube) , and Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheet with me.

I usually have a pack of oil blotting paper (no powder) with me.
The plastic-type blotting papers are pretty good.
Wash your face 2 to 3 times a day.
Look at it this way, you'll have less wrinkles when you get older.

Use Dial Gold Soap. It is antibacterial soap, and will dry up the oil. It works really well. Wash two times daily. Good Luck.
