I live in a very small town (few hundred people), and I love it. Your idea of "fun" might be different than mine, though, depending on your age and interests.

*Volunteer. The library and school would probably love to have your help. Also, small towns tend to have a lot of older residents. They would love to have your company and maybe some help with errands, etc.

*If there are civic groups or clubs, look into joining one and see what you can do to improve your community.

*If there are no clubs in your town that fit your interests, start one! It doesn't have to be a public service club; it could be a movie or book club, for example.

*If you're in school, get active with any extracurricular activities available. If there aren't any that you are interested in, ask about getting something new started.

*If there isn't a video store in town, join a mail order service like Netflix.

*Get a second job (or a first) to burn up your extra time. If you don't like living in a small town, you can put aside the extra money for relocating.

*Many small towns have regular socials (dances and potlucks). If yours doesn't, organize one!

*Does your town have a newspaper? If so, approach the editor about periodically contributing an article. If there is no paper, maybe you could start a community newsletter.

*Get involved in helping the town decorate and plan festivities for all the different holidays.

*Learn a new skill. In small towns, there are often people who know dying arts or have unusual skills. Ask around (or even post a notice) and take lessons (or maybe do a trade).

    *Take up a new hobby.

    *Organize a town-wide garage sale.

*Investigate recreational opportunities nearby. Even a small pond can be fun for paddling around in a raft. Go for bike rides. Take up cross-country skiing or snow shoeing. Take up jogging. The really cool thing about small towns is that there is so little traffic.

*Run for a local office or help support a candidate of your choice.

Unless you like to read or just walk some tails that most small towns have. Ours is behind one of the schools. (Real good view of the sunset there) There is not much to do unless a fair comes to town or somethings happening in the local theatre.

I don't know, I live in a small town too and there's not much to do here!! It's so small they don't even have a bus line. You could rent movies, take a walk, read a good book, hang out with your friends, join a club, baby-sit, talk to your neighbors, etc. etc.
