can a greyhound be given BactrimDS 250mg safely?

My greyhound cut his leg on Barbed wire and the vet gave him Bactrim DS 250mg. But I have never heard of this. can someone please answer my question before I give it to him

    If you trust your vet, I would give it to him. Greyhounds aren't generally overly sensitive to antibiotics. Just watch him for signs of diarrhea, vomiting, not wanting to eat, weakness. If he has any of this, call your vet to let him know right away.

    If the vet says it is good then I would trust the vet. Your pharmacist may be able to help you also

    I would think so. The best bet would be to call an alternate vet and ask them. . .
