All above have told you correctly, its equal parts.
One of my tricks that you may like, is to substitute the water, with something that compliments the dish.
Example; Rice Pudding, use Milk or Cream... Beef or Chicken, use beef or chicken stock instead of plain water. Good Luck.

It's actually 6 cups of water. 1 1/2 cups water per cup of rice

Definitely equal amounts - 1 cup of water for each cup of rice. I've been cooking for over 20 years and still can't make regular rice to save my life - instant's the way to go!!!

Well I am from a rice growing part of the country here and Minute Rice has always called for equal measure of Rice & water.
