I have made similar suggestions to others on a budget, maybe you would like the idea as well. Playing off the economic times, you might think of going as "grand ladies on hard times" by dressing up in stylish clothing from a charity shop, wigs, and flashy jewelry. That may at once present a unique costume and not cost much at all.

It has been about ten years since I was in college......but I got second place for Hawaiian barbie costume. I also dressed as a cowgirl which I got alot of comments on.

Fairy costumes can't be pretty and sexy.
