We are considering a mini-vacation in Dallas, Texas - what fun things would you suggest we do?

We are married couple in our 50's.

I second Fort Worth for the stock yards. You can take a train into there from Grapevine in and you will love it. There is a fun maze and shopping that is awesome and a place right there to do some wine tasting. Fort Worth Zoo has a section called Texas Wild that you might enjoy, kind of goes over the native animals and the different regions. It is a nice afternoon and the carousel is a historic one. Easy drive up to Fort Worth. Catch a football game at UNT - go mean green :)

    Any kids or grandkids...

aquarium, dallas zoo, ranger baseball, dallas cowboys game, many lakes to visit, malls all over, fort worth stockyards, Texas State Fair (bring lots of money)...

  • Head to Fort Worth and then go to Billy Bob's. The world's largest Honky Tonk. Then try a Texas steakhouse for dinner.

ok, procuring is the main suitable in Dallas. heavily. you may bypass to the Neiman Marcus downtown, NorthPark mall, definately, the Highland Park Village procuring mall, in all probability the West Village procuring mall, and according to probability the Galleria. ingesting on the Grand Lux (on the Galleria) is relaxing. and you may bypass to Sundance sq. in fortress nicely worth, because of the fact that's basically a very cool place for eating and catching a movie or something.

there is also a wax museum and a ripleys believe it or not museum right by each other. Those can be fun.

Why dallas? The number 1 tourist destination in Texas is San Antonio, followed by the outlet malls in San Marcos. There is a whole lot more you can do in either one of those city's than Dallas. People go to Dallas for business, while other people go to Houston, San Marcos, and San Antonio for fun.
