Can someone just please tell me L's name in Death note?

I'm getting inritated that no one know's L's name. My search on the Interenet proved to be futile and until now, I still don't know his name. Please tell me.

Update:

His name as in his REAL name in the manga.

    As far as I read it, it was never mentioned in the manga. Perhaps until the end of the story. Only one person knew his real name and it was the Shinigami Remu, who had died writing L's name.

    We have the same problem. So don't let it irritate you to no end.
