Do you hold your Influences Resopnsible?

If someone you have a fair amount of respect for suggests you do something, has a very strong opinion on it, but doesn't necessarily pressure you (as they could give a crap what you do, really, your decision to do this doesn't affect them).

You go out and do this thing, knowing nothing about it save what they've told you.

It eventually turns out to be a bad decision, or something bad comes of it, or there's a lot more work to this decision than what they told you. Do you blame the influence?

Absolutely not, we are responsible for our own actions, regardless of whether or not we took advice from someone else.

We learn from our mistakes, and then go on.

Most people would but that is nothing but a cop-out. You and only you have the ability to make responsible decisions about your actions. If you take the advice of only one person, you will pay the consequences a lot of times. Any responsible adult knows that they must get expert advice, and very often, from more than one source, when it is a major decision that affects their future or other people.

I agree with betty boop. If we give it to something because of peer pressure, or we give it to something because someone suggested we try... we're still at fault. Just because something worked a certain way for someone else doesn't mean it will for me.

We're all different people and we analyze every situation differently. If you decided to take a chance, regardless if it was successful or a complete failure, it was still...your choice.

Blame doesn't get you out of the situation, does it? Then why stir up negative stuff between yourself and a friend? Ultimately you have to figure out how to make the best of what has turned out to be real. That's where you can put your energy.

No.. you should blame yourself for being a dumb bunny... you should never do something just because someone told you to ... if you didn't know much about it you should have researched it.. investigate why it needed to be done.. asked more questions of the asker..

No. They never made me do anything. They only made a suggestion. I make decisions for myself.
