Heard one just the other day.... and it's way early. It's a very high decibel whistle with a grunt type sound sometimes. It's eerie sounding but beautiful

OK, I was JUST at Estes Park last week were the Elk rut and calf on the golf course. The male elk were bugeling (that's what it's called) and it reminded me of a goose calling. It kind of is a honking whisteling sound. It's pretty strange!
