special needs teacher?

does anyone know the training needed to become a special needs teacher? and what is the official title of a special needs teacher, i'm finding it hard to look it up! I'm intrested in becoming one but i dont know how to get there i'm still 18 and in college... THANKS!

    Teacher is a pilot of next generation and he or she should build an appropriate environment to disclose the excellence, humanity and harmony of the child.If anyone wants to be a that type of great teacher, he /she should have to be developed undermentioned characteristics.

    1) A vision for promoting human ability.

    2) A need of wide knowledge in addition to the subject he/she learnt.

    3) The identification ability of a child

    4) A broad knowledge of child psychology.

    5) A good knowledge on educational management.

    6) The identification ability of new and modern teaching methods.

    7) Good knowledge on current affairs.

    If he has above mentioned characteristics , definitely he can be a great teacher and to use them properly is the real challenge that any teacher has.

    there's no special name for it except for that you are a special education teacher. there are some new stipulations now since no child left behind has been put in place by w. bush. not only are you going to have to get certified in special ed. you are going to have to also take either a ec-4, 5-8 or 9-12 test which covers all the different courses. im not sure what state you're in but why don't you go onto one of the school districts website and look at the qualifications they have on line for potential special or exceptional ed teachers. good luck.

    at my college, im a reg ed major, sped is a 5 yr masters program where you are certified in all areas of special ed.

    Depends on your state. Look up the U.S. Education on google. It is basically the same classes for regular teaching, and then you need to take a few more child development classes and psyc classes. Contact me if you have more questions, I can help.
