I was just wondering what is the difference between rap and hip hop is?

I just have heard the two terms used when asked what type of music they enjoy

    Hip hop is crapy and rap is crapier!

    Hip hop is the scene not the music . Combining Graffiti , breakdancing and the likes . Rap is the actual well vocal " Rap " that the rapper will sing .

    Anyway Go Trance Music .

    i think they the same. i like rap but i didnt know that hip hop and rap was different!

    but when u gonna spit somethin then u dont say i ma hiphop! u say i ma RAP.so i think rap is the lyrics in the hip hop beats.

    hip hop is an actual movement.

    hip hop is breakdancing, graffiti, dj-ing and rapping.

    rap is the lyrics over the beat
