There is a great hiking trail on the "sayward highway" I think its hwy 28. It is called the ripple rock trail. It takes about 1.5 hrs in and same out..and is rated moderate i think. If you are looking for something quick you can do the canyon view trail..it runs around the campbell river and over the dam. There is also a good trail on Quadra Island called china mountain, I dont really remember how long it takes or how hard it is, its been years since i hiked it. You can also go up Mt. Washington and ride the lift up and walk down for an easy hike, and there are tones of trails in Strathcona Park. If your up for a full day hike, i would suggest hiking to Mira falls I think its around 8-10 hrs. Hope you have fun!

There are just so many and it depends on your skill levels. Campbell River is a hiker's paradise! Your best bet is to stop at a gas station, Canadian Tire or outfitter's store (There's a cool one right by the CR bridge) and get a copy of the Backroad's Mapbook. It has great and easy maps, an entire section of hiking on the island and tells the skill levels, length and any neccessary equipment needed. Have fun!!!
