here is just the link for you! I got one, and I never had any trouble!

just buy your phone at Target, activate it from home...go and email the cellguru guy and he gives you some free minutes...he did that with me...also NET10 is good too, 10 cent anytime minute..tracfone owns it too.

That's what I have, because I basically use it for emergencies only.I had very good luck with them, until they had an on line deal that was really good. The offer was,you could get 2 60min cards, and a cell phone for $19.95. So I ordered it.About a week went by and I still hadn't received the phone,I called and they said that if I had not been given an order#, then the order had not gone through.I waited a week longer, just to make sure there wasn't some kind of mistake. After a week I placed the order again. The day the phone was delivered, two box's came, which I had ordered a few accessories to go with the phone,so I figured that was what the second box was...WRONG!! It was (2) two, phones. When I told them what had happened,I was told that I would have to pay,the shipping and handling,AND a $10.00 restocking fee.And that I couldn't return the phone cards!!Bottom line,it was a nightmare.I had to report them to B.B.B.,all the hassle to get the charges returned to my credit card. And to top it off,the back cover to both of the phones don't fit. They are HELL to do business with, and good luck finding someone to help you, that you can understand. For me,I would say don't even look at an ad from them.Hope that helps. And hope you find something that works for you. What a sweet Aunt you are to get them cell phones.God bless

I am a former Cell Phone Salesman. I answered this question for many of my customers. So here goes.

Tracphone has its uses. but be aware that it can be very expensive. You have to buy units. These are not minutes because if you are in a roaming area it will use up multiple units per minute. You will average about 20 cents or more per minute for calls versus almost nothing for a prepaid account. And if you do not use up your units in a specified period of time they expire and you have to buy more.

There are some good alternatives. All of your major Cell carriers have prepaid services. T-Mobile is about the cheapest of the prepaids. You can buy cards for them at Walmart so they are convenient. Check into all of the services to shop price and coverage area.

Disney has an interesting new service. It is a phone designed just for kids. You can control how the phone is being used online. You can restrict certain numbers, restrict certain time periods, and keep track of your kids calling habits. And an important safety feature is that it is also a GPS, so if the child is lost, kidnapped, hurt, or just where they are not supposed to be or even to check to see where they are, the phone can be tracked. So if you ask where they are and they say we are at the library and they are actually at the mall........ busted!!

I realize that they are not your children but after the gift these features could be turned over to the parents.

If they are older than that, then the prepaid might be a good option.

Tracfones are a good option if the phone will hardly ever be used but quite expensive (as much as .33 cents per minute) if used on a regular basis. How old are your niece and nephew? Virgin mobile and cingular offer good pre paid plans as well I'd check those out. Also it's not prepaid but I'd look into Disney Mobile.

Too expensive to buy the minutes. Ask your brother or sister if they will pay for monthly service and you will pay for your niece and nephews phone.

I have a tracefone. Its like 3 cents a minute but you have to buy 1 new prepaid card to keep it activated every month.

    Hope this helps.

the cheapest card is like 20 bucks.

but if your niece and nephew is going to use it a lot dont get a tracefone.

i started off with a virgin mobile its rates are ok now but not great tracfone i had for a while too and like now 40 dollars gives you 1 hour of talk time you can send text with them there good.. right now i have the cingular prepaid and it is good too.. ive heard the tmobile one is alright though but trac fone is good and they should be pretty happy with it.. my sister was since it was her first phone and all but not that great if they talk alot.. like the cingular lets you talk to other cingular phones (the ones on contract and prepaid) for free and i know alot of people now have cingular phones and their phones start at 30 dollars

Tracphones would be really good for them. I think that they would be really happy even with just a tracphone.

It depends on how much they will use them. If they will be on the phone a lot, it would be better to get a cell.
