Excuse my ignorance. I have lived in Florida all my life. When is an electric shower used. I am familiar with pressureised plumbing and a seperare water heater.

It's a rather weird name for a product since you generally do not want to mix anything electric with someone involved in an action where they are bathing.
The concept is a tankless method to heat water that someone is using to shower with. The setting: poolside, or remote outdoor cabin, maybe an RV. The product doesn't increase the water pressure, just heats the water as it travels through the gizmo... which, in some cases, is also the shower head.
