This is a touchy subject so i'll offer some food for thought.

Does anyone know why sex offenders offend in the first place???? It comes down to three components, sexualized thoughts, identity, and actions. Those who are sex offenders 99%of the time have been sexually abused, or exposed to sexualized thoughts early on in their stage of development, therefore retaining the sexualized information. Sex offenders also have poor impulse control. Therefore in conclusion sex offenders can not choose their sexualized thoughts, but they can choose to not act out on sexualized actions. The only way to assist them in not carring out the actions is by helping them through treatment, not punishment, because what happens when the come out of jail???They re-offend.

I don't think they protect them in a sense it's so no one will harm the sex offender so they don't go to prison. I think they should never get out of jail in the first place, the courts need to fix that up.

I would like to tattoo their foreheads. Child molestors do so because that is their taste. They are not interested in adult relationships. How can you change a persons sexual inclination? You can not expect a homosexual to change their preference. Why does the government think they can change a molestors preference. (This is not a put down on homosexuals) Yer the australian government appears to care more about criminals than it does about victims.

You could always hunt them down and castrate them for fun and profit.

It is suppossed to so they stay away from people that want to kill them.
