In most history books the fall of Greek empire is related to the death of Alexander the Great and the integration of Greece to the Roman Republic that followed it. I wouldn't relate it to overconfident pride and arrogance (hubris); it was only the Rome as a rising power assimilating neighboring (militarily weaker) cultures.
