How can I stop Messenger from automatically appearing on the screen when i turn on the computer?

Even better, how can I get rid of it forever?

    There is an option in the messenger window that says "sign in automatically" unclick that.

    yeah you can go to the control panel and remove it....or you can go and change it from starting in the start up menu....i would have to be in there but it may be display options or i actually forget which one but you can change it from starting in the control panel programs too...thay way you will still have it but it will not start up as soon as you turn on your computer....

    well if you want it to stop signing in automaticly you go to your settings and change this feature. And if you want to get rid of it go to control panel, add or remove programs and remove it.

    Control panel >> remove programs

    click start, then control panel.

    click performance and maintenance, click administrative tools.

    Double click services, double click messenger.

    In the startup type list, choose disabled.

    Click stop and then click OK.

    restart your computer and you should be good to go.

    on the messanger -

    try tools>general

    and uncheck that it will be reload automatically when windows appears.

    control panel, add/delete programs... find the program and delete it.
