get an AMD Athlon 64bit FX (make sure your motherboard supports it). Intel's dual core is good.... but the 64bit FX is amazing if you can afford it. I can't afford it ... so I have the 64bit 3800 + and it really is great!

intel just get money for it's name but it sucks,
use AMD as pro user, cpu temperature may be to hot on strong process but if you have good fan you can control it,
for your info and tom'shardware test shows that AMD in processing overclocking is better than intel and either in costs,
don't waste your money on intel, if you ask from pro users they all said AMD.
