Well, first off....if you don't know what you want for a tattoo or where you want it, why are you going to get one??? Doesn't make much sense. But to answer your question, I guess get something that has meaning to you. For example, I am 100% Romanian, and I'm religious. Granted, I do not have tattoo's, but if I did get one......it would be a Romanian Flag--for having pride of being Romanian, and an Orthodox Cross--for being an Orthodox Christian. Now, for location.....I guess it depends on how big of a tattoo you want and what it is. A lot of thinking you still need to do I guess. Sorry if I wasn't much help.

Make sure that its something you can live with for the rest of your life, I personally chose something very personal for me. Alot of times tatoos are a very good form of therapy. Right now I have a tattoo artist working on a personal drawing of a hummingbird in memory of my mom who passed away almost 2 years ago.
Finding a location is just as important, pick a spot that you can cover up if you have to and that will look good when you are old.
Finally pick a tattoo artist/parlor that has a good reputation. Go and kind of "interview" them. Remember its gonna be on your body for the rest of your life. Its not something that should be taken lighty

Try looking anything like Miami/LA/London Ink, even though you can also now not see precisely what you wish, it'll supply you a few recommendations. You will probably be capable to look how tattoo's seem on exclusive materials of the frame and you'll be capable to look what places you prefer tattooed. It may even supply you recommendations on methods to study tattoo recommendations, and system an artist to ensure you get what you particularly wish.

I am a Gemini... I also have twin sons (the meaning of gemini is twins... how ironic?). Anyway, I had always wanted one... so last Spring I got a small Gemini sign tatoo on my right inner ankle. Easily covered with socks or pants if I want.
This summer I went on a cruise with my Mom and sister and actually saw a handful of people with their zodiac signs in the same place!
This proved to my mom that I was not the only idiot with the same idea;-)
Mine was for a reason... if you have something with a meaning... I would go with that. My sister who I mentioned above, is now planning on getting the "scales of Justice" in the same spot... she's a lawyer... think you get my point.
Good luck...

I just got my first tat about a month ago.. i got three small black stars on my hip bone. For your first tattoo I would: First keep it small and simple.. it's a lot easier to regret something small and easy to hide than something obnoxious that everyone will see. And Second, I woul suggest not getting something crazy on your lower back, come on, EVERYONE has tattoos there, and it's simply a trend.. I think you would regret that later! And all my guy friends call them "tramp stamps" is that really what you want? I would go for something small and cute. But classic.. and I would think long and hard before you got any words..

I want one really bad and my parents say, "NO!" when was the last time you saw a 14 year old walk around with a tattoo? Yep.. Where I live 14 is the legal age, and I can't get one because of my parents... Sad.
I would like to get a Yin Yang with a steel dragon on top of it, or chinese letters.

Tattoo the word "STUPID" on your forehead backwords. That way when you look in the mirror you know why you got it.
Tattoos aren't cool and they aren't art.Look around at the people who have them. Most are working in some kind of blue collar job.Not that there's anything wrong with that. But you should strive to be better.

I think that you should not get a tattoo if you have no inclination of what you want, what size, where you are going etc.
You sound like you are getting one just to say "Yeah, I have one" and that isnt a good reason to do it. Plus, tattoo artist dont really like when people walk in to get some ink done and are like "Yeah, i dont know what I want, something like this blah blah blah."
To them its serious and they want to be taken seriously not waste their time.
Think about what intrests you, flowers, angels, fairies, etc. OR get your zodiac symbol if you are into that. Dont get one to get one...Get one that youare proud to show if someone asks you. Dont be like yeah, i have a tat I just got it cause it looks pretty." People will laugh

I would start with a small one in a discreet place. When thinking of tatoos I picture myself 80 yrs old and it is still there.lol Also I think of being at the alter in my weeding dress with them showing. Remember they stay forever. Good luck Curious 2006
