What has happened to Arsenal this year?

They just don't seem to have that fire that they've had in the past. Don't tell me it's because they're in a new stadium and wearing new kits.

Update:

debs - thanks for the brief answer. But, why be a lemming and follow everyone else into the pit of oblivion?

Update 2:

smilyfs - The Gunners won my heart long ago and I'm not a fair weather fan. I have watched some of the matches. Luckily for me, I just received extended cable programing and now have Fox Soccer Channel locked on as a favorite. I don't doubt the talent, passion, or fire in their blood. Maybe it is a settling in period. Many things all at once. The new stadium, the loss & gain of new players. I'll miss Bergie. But, what I've seen of Gallas looks really good for the future of Arsenal.

What has happened is that the Gunners moved to a new stadium.

In the off season we've lost Pires, Bergie, Sol, Cashley ; loaned out future stars in Bendtner, Lupoli etc and added Gallas, Rosicky and Baptista to the first team as well as Denilson, Merida, Barazite etc to the already impressive list of players we have at the Grove.

With regards to "don't seem to have that fire that they've had in the past". Thats totally untrue!!! Have you watched any of the matches??? We've played with heart in all the matches even the first few ones we shouldve won but drew and lost!!! Fine they lacked clinical finishing in those games and we got lucky in the win over Charlton (with the Gallas handball) but hey man.... which team in the past have we had that went to Old Traff*rd and won 1-0!!!! The fire is there man and its burning... Its all about passion and going behind your team the whole way even if they were not doing as well as youd like them to! Arsenal has a really glorious history and one of the few clubs left that sticks to a set of honourable ethics which are rarely seen in the modern game. We play exciting football (the most entertaining side in the world i would argue) and we have a young and very talented side.

Under Wenger we have seen almost 3 generations of players come through now. Lets hope the Boss will stay on as long as he has that fire and determination in him to see the club succeed on the local and international front. Gooners forever!!!!!

    Absolutely all about re-adjustment.

New players, will need time to settle, but it will come right.

Trust in The Grand Master, Arsene Wenger, and his conveyer belt of exciting, talented youngsters.

And the future also looks bright financially with twice the capacity at the new stadium Arsenal will have twice the budget for players if necessary.

There are just getting started, but its true, they are not what they used to be. It all sterted when Viera left for Juventus, now in Inter, but since then some key players that meant championships for the club have been trade or loaned, taht the case of Reyes.

Personally i think that Wenger should try to mix thing up, maybe henry shoukd move to a classic 10 possition, hes the only one that has the skill to assist, shoot and dribble. He can pass to many player that can be offensive inside of the team. fabregas, lehb, gilberto, rosicky. And if Henrysteps down as a foward Batista could move up, plus three pretty good strikers v. persie, Adevayor, walcott.

Arsenal are discovering their style of play at the moment. The departure of Pires and Reyes and the inclusion of Rosicky and Gallas as has actually called for different pace in the game. But I'm sure as time go by the team will discover its best form and will be back to where it belongs.
